Medical and Dental, Side by Side
Very few clinics in this region offer medical and dental care under one roof. At Friends In Need, your provider and your dentist are down the hall from each other — which means fewer trips, faster hand-offs, and care that treats you as one whole person instead of two separate problems.

• MEDICATION ASSISTANCE
Access to the Medications You Need
A prescription you cannot afford to fill is not treatment. Friends In Need helps eligible patients get their medications at little or no cost — and our staff handles the paperwork with you, start to finish.

Manufacturer Programs
We connect patients to prescription assistance programs offered by major drug manufacturers.

Donated Medications
Through our partnerships with Dispensary of Hope and Direct Relief, we keep name-brand and over-the-counter medications on site. In the first half of 2026 alone, that meant roughly $93,000 in name-brand medications going home with our patients.

Patient Navigation
Our staff walks you through every application from beginning to end, then stays with you through refills.

• SPECIALTY REFERRALS
Connected to the Care You Need
Some care is beyond what any primary care clinic can provide on its own. Through Project Access — built with Ballad Health and a network of volunteer specialists — eligible Friends In Need patients can be referred for specialty consults, imaging, and diagnostic testing at little or no cost.

You do not have to find the next doctor yourself. We make the connection and we follow up.

• YOUR FIRST VISIT
What to Expect At Your First Visit
Here's what to expect when you come in — from picking up an application to leaving with your care scheduled.
01
Start Your Application
Pick up a paper application at our office Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 5 PM, or start one online. Start your application
02
Gather What You Need
Bring a valid photo ID, proof of address, and proof of household income if you have it. We will also ask how many people live in your household. Missing something? Come anyway. Our staff will help you work it out.
03
Check In With Our Staff
We review your application with you and confirm your eligibility. Ask us anything — about services, about fees, about what happens next.
04
Your First Appointment
Once you are approved, we schedule your visit. Medical and dental visits are billed at one flat fee no matter your insurance status, and no one is turned away for inability to pay. Plan on a little extra time at that first visit for intake before you see a provider. We will remind you by call or text beforehand.
